School Greening Program

The School Greening Program combines tree planting with environmental education to help students learn practical conservation skills. Schools establish green spaces on their campuses using a mix of shade trees, indigenous species, and educational demonstration plots.

Beyond planting trees, the program integrates lessons on climate change, biodiversity, water conservation, and sustainable land management. Students participate in nursery care, planting days, watering schedules, and basic monitoring activities.

Teachers, parent associations, and local environmental groups collaborate to ensure that trees are maintained after planting. This support is especially important during dry periods when young seedlings require regular care.

The program aims to create healthier school environments, increase tree survival through student stewardship, and build a generation of young people with stronger environmental awareness and practical restoration experience.
